While reporting the following afternoon on what had happened on the game show the previous evening, King seemed to throw shade on the contestants for lacking the correct “focus.” Nothing like pointing out that your network is completely out of step with “really smart” Americans. The move here was void of any self-awareness, but isn’t that the whole point? Listen: “Only the smartest of the smart get to be on Jeopardy, right?” King asked rhetorically Friday afternoon. “So what does this little exchange last night say about the nation’s focus, or lack thereof, on the whole [Robert] Mueller Russia meddling and collusion investigation?” Perhaps it says that sane people don’t give a hoot about an investigation that’s not only produced no convincing evidence against the president, but that’s been accused of being corrupt? “I would bomb on Jeopardy, but I’d get that one right,” he condescendingly added. The question had been “[w]hich ex-national security adviser pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI?” One contestant guessed White House chief of staff John Kelly and another guessed former White House adviser Sebastian Gorka. The correct answer was former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. It’s special counsel Mueller’s tedious and allegedly phony investigation into the president, and the fact that three Jeopardy contestants didn’t know this is — well, that ain’t right! Especially given how many endless hours CNN has dedicated to boring its small base of viewers to tears with its ever-so-so insightful analysis about “Russia, Russia, Russia.” Like Tablet magazine columnist Lee Smith sarcastically noted on Twitter, “CNN’s John King wants to know what ‘Jeopardy’ contestants were doing when they should have been watching thousands of hours of CNN’s Russiagate coverage.” Below are some more Twitter reactions: Mark@azml65 Replying to @realDailyWire John King answered his own question.
