Somebody asked about the DRDA. Informix does have
access to this. Here is an extract from DATA
COMMUNICATIONS INTERNATIONAL.

In this connectivity product round-up,
INFORMIX-Enterprise Gateway and INFORMIX-Enterprise
Gateway with DRDA are abstracted. The Enterprise
Gateway lets tools and applications access data
located anywhere in the enterprise. It incorporates
the Enterprise Access SQL (EDA/SQL) suite of
products, which provides both SQL and remote
procedure call access to over 60 relational and
non-relational data sources on 35 different hardware
platforms and operating systems. Enterprise Gateway
with DRDA let users and developers transparently
access information on IBM DB2, DB2/VM and DB2/400
