As I understand with the Keto Diet one gets the carb intake so low that the body stops burning carbs and glucose to burning the fat in the body for fuel. In the short term you can get "keto flu" where the body feels sluggish. It goes away after awhile but I think you can only eat veggies and meat. It seems that would be a hard diet for me to stay on for years.

Intermittent fasting sorta does the same thing except the time difference is much shorter. Many ways to go about it but most like eating two regular meals in an eight hour period and doing a sixteen hour fast every day. After twelve hours your body will go into keto and burn fat. But before your body starts to wind down you are eating another meal. And you can eat carbs. Just don't over do it. Most like to have the last meal around 8pm and not eat again until noon or one pm the next day. A lot ways to get to the same point, can just be a personal thing.
