Bill, my old employer, (the FAA) uses a Tandem pathway
system titled MCS (maintenance control system),
to monitor & control Radar, and other Aircraft guidance systems.
Government people love acronyms.

Among other things, this system will be used to turn on runway
approach/landing lights at small unmanned airports, just as an
aircraft approaches the airport.

Would you feel comfortable with a planned night landing at one of these small airports, knowing that the MCS system was running under a
Windows NT operating system ??
