"President Obama proposed legislation and he didn't get everything he asked for." Excuses... Just more excuses... This was not just a promise about taxes, the environment, the economy, building pipelines, etc.. This was a "personal promise", that entailed one of the most private personal relationships in one's life!! Let me guess.. You are now going to attempt to blame it on Republicans? Shame on you!
