Just remember all the wonderful people from various European countries who came to and built countries like the US, Canada, Southern Africa and Australasia came through the front door not the back window. They were vetted and many missed out. If you believe the Washington Post, Anne Frank and her family were denied refugee status by the US in 1938.

Of course there are always misgiving held by folks as they see their comfort zone changing. That is natural and I personally do not label someone a racist because of any misgivings they may feel when things change too rapidly.

Wanting control of our borders and who is permitted to enter our country is common sense not racism.

It is how we decide which countries will fill the annual quota of genuine asylum places that could be a subject for debate and if not managed tactfully could be construed as racial or religious bias

There is a long queue of genuine aspiring migrants. I do not warm to queue jumpers who choose to break the law to get to the front of the queue.
