So you ripped O for executive orders, but it’s ok for Trump to do them? Height of hypocrisy.

I have no idea why the laws were written the way they are. Maybe they thought anyone crazy enough to leave everything behind and ask for asylum must really be desperate and deserves to be considered. Or maybe the laws were made for a time when hundreds of thousands of Mexicans migrated to the US each year to pick crops and then went back when they were done because life in Mexico was OK if you had a little US $ to spend.

In any event if a majority of Americans think the laws should be changed then Congress will do so. Otherwise, we gotta play the hand we are dealt. As I said in a previous post, border crossers come for jobs that US citizens won’t do for the money businesses are willing to pay. So while people scream that illegal immigrants are destroying our country, American businesses are quite happy with the status quo.

If we really want to stop border crossers, we could do so by making it impossible for them to find work. Won’t happen as long as the economics continue to work.
