My comments were not directed at any individual - just what I recall the attitude being before there were laws to protect non-smokers in public buildings.

It was outrageous at that time - they even smoked in hospitals, and certainly on planes.

I will say that California led the way on this one good thing - I worked many hours getting petitions signed to help get the movement started.

All we originally "begged" for was non-smoking sections in restaurants.

Some of the smokers I asked to sign the petition acted like I was working to get them hung. How DARE I be so rude as to want a portion of a restaurant where smoke wouldn't be blown directly in my face! LOL! :)
