I guess I think Trump should have stayed with his agreement to his White House advisors. I understand his reluctance to say anything that would be construed to mean that he accepts the claim that Russian meddling won the election for him. But I also think he could have split the baby with his answers if he'd been properly prepared for those kind of questions.

I don't think this should cost Trump any votes, but it puts other Republicans, esp. those running in the fall, in a bad position. Maybe this is a weakness in having a POTUS with no political experience. He doesn't finesse questions easily, and I'm not sure that he keeps enough focus on the fact he's the leader of a political party as well as a country.

It was obvious the timing was an attempt by Mueller to set Trump up and box him in. But Trump botched it, imo, mainly by saying more than he had to.
