These timelines that keep getting posted are silly because the facts of the Mueller investigation keep changing. When the timeline changed about 2 months ago, it negated and/or cast doubt on many events that were before then taken as evidence of Russian collusion.

The people at justsecurity.com keep trying, though, which is disappointing because I think it's a group of young attorneys that created the website.

I agree that Trump's attempt to deflect was weak. Maybe he should have just claimed lack of sleep, lol.

The thing is, Trump has nothing to apologize for because his record of actual opposition to Putin is strong. Increasing of sanctions, expelling 60 diplomats, writing a new law regarding sanctions, crossing Putin's efforts in Syria, continuing to call Crimea an illegal annexation, warning Germany against contracting for Russian gas to name a few. Oh, and the big one which was beefing up NATO.

I don't know what to think about the things he said, and it is worrisome as you said. For starters I think he's got to get Mueller out of his head and stop paying attention to the leftwing attacks, the marches, and so on. And maybe spend less time golfing and more time preparing for the inevitable negative questions. Last night he told Sean Hannity that when he and Putin came to the podium, he thought there would be questions about what he and Putin had discussed. And instead there was immediately a question about the Mueller indictment. I would feel sorry accept that he should have been ready for that kind of question and prepared with a tightly constructed short answer. He doesn't think well on his feet and keeps going on and on until he says something weird.

And then some of the other blundering statements made earlier in the week---it's all pretty sad.
