Thomas,
I find it astounding that you would see any similarity in between survival mindsets of dementiacrats and Republicans.
The Republicans are no more tech savvy than Democrats. They all have access to the same IT professionals who do their information security.

The Republicans are also no better at zipping their lips or keeping a secret than the Democrats are. Just because the scales of political correctness are tilted heavily in favor of the Democrats doesn't mean the Republicans have learned to be more careful with their e-mails, or tweets, or whatever.

So far, I have seen no prominent politician really understand what information security is all about. You can see it in the zeal by Congress, especially the old fogies in senior positions, to censor the Internet and get "backdoor" access into digital encryption. They still think the game is all about Enigma machines.

In any case, it really doesn't matter. Like I said, the Russians are just fine acting like they are in cahoots with Trump. If they did hack into the Republican servers, they have MUCH more to gain by withholding that info than by releasing it to the public.

(And if they didn't, well then your theory is justified. But still in both cases, it speaks ill of the Democrats, who are in a complete meltdown phase.)
