I agree with you. SI threads are just a microcosm of what we see in the US at a macro scale. It's a sad devolution of American Culture, when both parties see the other as the enemy. Meanwhile, the demonization of all Republicans and the silencing of dissent continues unabated. To whit, Comey’s latest tweet below. The worst outcome of the last few years has been the wedge driven through the heart of the American people, so that we can no longer disagree across party lines in a civil manner. Instead, the other side must be declared evil and traitorous. Who are these people that want civil war in this country? Trump makes a tremendous number of mistakes. Every time he opens his mouth, we all brace ourselves for what he’s going to say next, even as we hope for the best. But does that mean that all Republicans are traitors if they fail to vote Democrat in the next election, as Comey implies? I don’t see the logic or sanity in that, nor in a party representing 50% of our population actively hoping for failure in US negotiations with North Korea, China, and Russia, just because they don’t like our President and they lost an election.
