Looks like SUNW's shot has found its first mark.

PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan 15 (Reuters) - Hewlett-Packard Co.on Wednesday said it was cutting prices by up to 17 percent on its HP Kayak family of PC workstations in a bid to market the powerful, Windows NT-based desktops more aggressively.
The move, which takes effect on Thursday, comes two days after Sun Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ:SUNW) introduced a family of low-cost workstations, dubbed the Darwin line, to compete against similar equipment that use Microsoft Corp.'s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows NT software and Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) microprocessors.
