It sure would be nice if the DOJ broke up Microslop but it probably will not happen.

In Feb Byte Mag under the following heading
Windows Slimfest

Notice the order in the mag MS - Corel - Citrix. Obviously they don't use alphabetical order or do they think MS will be number one?

They have three contendors
MS terminal server (MSTS) aka hydra price TBA
Corel Remagen price TBA but less then MSTS
Citrix picasso price TBA
Citrix is similar to MSTS but will also run on other OS's other than Windows.
They all are slated for release first half of 98.

Experts warn: Look and test before you leap.

Sun just announced new low priced work stations running Solaris OS.
If I were Corel I would develop Remagen to run on Solaris since it will kick MS NT for reliability. When companies start relying on Servers to keep the office running I'm sure MS NT will be a dog compared to Solaris. With the new back office designs you can't afford any down time on the server and MS NT owners will be in for a big surprise when they have to rely on NT.

I also think this is just a stop gap solution until Java gets its act together at which time it will take over the back office.
