<..what a company HAS to report to the SEC is not necessarily what the
public hears, nor is it entirely what wall st. cares about...>

You are truly amazing in your obstinate misrepresentations.

And that no one else reading this ridiculous exchange (besides sargent) has bothered to clarify this for you, gauges for me the apathy and/or ignorance of this thread (which I am no longer monitoring).

For anyone ELSE who cares (as addressing this to Trey is like trying to explain something to an obstinate child), the company reports to the SEC on their 10Q. They ALSO often release their earning's details less formerly (but not less clearly or accurately) in a press release.
I gave you the url of the MU press release for this report, and quoted the relevant paragraph. If your news server hasn't trimmed this, you can also see the EPS, exclusive of the non-recurring gain from sale of assets, of .18, reported on the Dow Jones News Wire.

Wall St. often DOES care about MORE than the EPS. They care about the forward outlook in the conference call. But this fact has NOTHING to do with whether use non-recurring gains in comparing to consensus. No broker, no fund manager, no analyst, no one who follows Wall St. confuses upside surprises of consensus estimates with one-time gain/loss inclusive EPS numbers.

Ask any fund manager. Ask any experienced broker. Even email CNBC. Or continue to live in your delusion (and post these pathetic, errant rationalizations here).

<.. the street just cares about beating estimates, they dont care how it is done...>

Would someone else please give this... guy a clue?

<..i DIDNT reward MU for beating estimates, the street did. the stock went from the 30-40 range into the high 50's AFTER this report...>

The report came out after the close on June 16th, when the stock closed at $42 1/2. It opened on the 17th at $41 and closed at $41 5/8.
It traded in a range of 40 to 42 for 3 weeks. Period. Where it traded AFTER this had NOTHING to do with the earnings with or without one-time gains. Why is getting these points so very difficult for you?

<..now granted in some stocks, i do have enough capital to swing the stock around..>

What was that flattering term you used to describe Indonesians?

I leave this prodigy and his asinine barrage of spin and misrepresentation to the WSTL clan. Enjoy him.
