In that case China is really selling it for what the market is actually willing to pay. I remember a Nike factory in China that had a 3rd shift producing EXACT copies of $250 sneakers and releasing them to the 3rd world through Pakistan (probably 20-25 years ago). Same issue with DVD's made in India. Once you give the stream file to the DVD manufacturer the content is gone - they have to watch it to make sure it works. Here, the only thing that prevented reading was an outer track. People were using Sharpies to carefully draw a line around the outer edge, defeating the protection. Really, once you can "see" something, you can pirate it by photographing it frame by frame with a digital camera - give each guy a screen and a camera and some section of the film to play back frame by frame. For games, put in an emulator and watch the op codes go by... it is laborious but both India and China have plenty of people to put on the task.
