All copy protection schemes depend on embedding a code that the cannot be duplicated by the consumer. But at some price point, it will be worth it for the consumer (or his proxy) to invest the time and technology that allows him to duplicate the embedded code. This is one of the primary reasons for the move towards subscription and/or SaaS models.
