QCOM owning NXP delays 2G 3G sunset, extends old unwanted IP Royalties regime into vehicle designs due to multiband SoC designs continued like a trojan horse with CDMA IP locked inside like burglers, waiting to jump out.
China knows this.
It is time for CDMA to retire - not just on the towers, on ALL devices also.

It is time for simplified SoCs to emerge with lower modem complexity and cost and power demand giving way to an increase in LTE-A aggregation schemes.
VZW has already introduced an LG brand LTE-only flip feature phone with a QCOM 200-series multiband SoC with all other bands disabled.
The same SoC is also found in TMo's Alcatel flip

The acceptance of Big Red's flip for enhanced security since it does not run GOOG apps as a smartphone does will tip LTE-only market TAM including computational IoT (laptops and tablets etc.).

If the NXP deal terms out on Wednesday then you should perceive tailwind in that development.
IMO
