Cheeky Kid,

Thanks, you're fun to debate with, too.

We really do agree. I'm not saying there is no market for small ISPs. I believe that there is a market. What I'm saying that they cannot be profitable at only $19.95 per month. If they try to charge more than that, they cannot compete. I say let the already existing ISPs have the inherent 24-hour-a-day headaches of expensive tech support, downed networks, dropped or absent servers, viruses, advertizing, and other tribulations ad infinitum. I'd use what the existing ISPs offer and what they do best to further my own business interests.

MLM marketing is already using the Internet to great advantage, as evidenced by all the spam that is out there and on Usenet and their billions and billions of webpages. I understand that many MLM marketers have highly sophisticated marketing and record-keeping methods using dedicated webpages courtesy of already existing ISPs.

I read some about the new low-cost Sun work station but haven't really studied it. Word on the street is that Sun is trying to penetrate Windows NT markets. More power to 'em!
