Most people I know don't follow politics so they have no idea what's going on...and they're cool with it. So the policy is irrelevant. Emotion is everything. This is why a bad economy hurts the incumbent president no matter how good everything else might be. It's all about emotions. Trump didn't have any policies. There's no health care plan, no wall. NAFTA didn't end etc. No one cared because he was able to get up and lie and be in the news every single day. Dems don't know how to control the media OR get any coverage in the media. Given a choice between covering a 10 point plan on energy independence or a tweet, the tweet will always be the headline story especially if it's a lie. It's the Sarah Palin effect. Trump won because he was the only person who lied every time he opened his mouth and his lies were news.
