I am saying I don't think they will approve by a deadline they had no hand in setting.
It's irrelevant, my friend, who set the deadline. July 25th midnight EDT, is the deadline by which the Chinese must act if they wish this acquisition to occur. If they don't act, parties to the purchase & sale agreement have agreed to terminate the transaction.

If you, for some reason take the position the Chinese are not likely to approve the deal BECAUSE this deadline was "imposed" upon them, you miss the logistics governing whether this deal gets done. Whether the Chinese like it or not, whether the transaction gets done is completely & exclusively, within their control. To nix a deal simply because the deadline imposed upon them was not set by them would be just plain stupid. And I don't think the Chinese are stupid.
