In the end the taxpayers lose. "In the long run we are all dead"...John Maynard Keyes Taxpayers have benefited from the recent tax cuts. That means taxpayers win.....sometimes. This Friday we might learn that the US GDP has increased 4% for the quarter. Our trading partners China, Canada, Mexico and the EU are all in decline. It is an opportune time to use tariffs to reduce the balance of payments deficit that has existed for decades. The "status quo" where the US is taken advantage of is ending. China will be the big loser in the "tariff war". You can't win a war without significant suffering.
