Dolby hasn't reached my consciousness yet as consumer although I've been following this thread. I see there's one with the full package in San Diego, plus a number of theaters with Dolby sound. None seem to make much of a song and dance about it although tickets for the full package cost $5 more than the same movie on a neighboring screen.




Despite my investments, I'm not a huge AV guy but I think the extra $5 is worth it for a full Dolby theatre. The increased picture quality is noticeable and the sound is simply awesome. It isnt for every movie but IMO it is worth it for the latest superhero movies.

FWIW though, my daughter thought it was too loud :-).
