Once Upon a Time..... I decided to start a board to provide a response board where posters could challenge or question the validity of why posters on SI get banned. One of the problems is when you are banned from a board suddenly, you are not provided a chance to refute or challenge the reasons for the banning. That is why this board exists.
So far, I have been banned three times and, in all occurrences, I feel it was totally unjustified based on my posting history on the thread. My banning was moderator agenda related, rather than anything I said online.
I honestly feel one of the major problems with SI today is since it has been around for more than 20 years there are a lot of curmudgeon moderators “An ill-tempered (and frequently old) person full of stubborn ideas or opinions.”. Also a lot of valued posters have left and moved on to other formats to express their opinions. Meaning Subjectmarks numbers are not always as they seem.
Then to make it even more complicated you now have a lot of younger often combative, " millennial types" who have come to SI to challenge much of what is posted. Most often these troubled boards are politically themed where it is conservative vs liberal perspectives. Lots of very harsh comments made.
When I started this board, it was my intent to let posters express their frustrations and generally not get involved. Early on poster Ground Zero became a central point of anger from many. After researching his boards, I noticed he seems to ban more people than most. If you read his posts here, you will see we have strongly disagreed about the banning process. So, for me to eventually get banned on one of his boards was only a matter of time. That is fine, but I want to make it clear it was totally unrelated to anything I did on his board (what he used to ban me was silly he really had to reach for a reason) but was totally related to the fact that I would not get involved with posts being made by him or against him on this board.
Ground Zero Buy and Sell Signals, and Other Market Perspectives is a good resource for trading thoughts and someone who is providing valid input and nothing more isn’t a reason to be banned. Any board should welcome posters not ban them just because they don’t have a lot to say.
Ground Zero is very proud and he boasts that he has 651 Subjectmarks “ of which I really question these numbers, based on the very small poll numbers he gets each week. I think he likely has less than 75 actual readers of this thread. This isn’t a rare occurrence I think most boards have much lower actual readers than the subject marks represent.
If you look at posts on this board both to and from Ground Zero over the last week, it became pretty nasty and there was a lot of bravado on display. I felt no need to get involved even though I received many threatening PM message from GZ. “that if I don’t do something ……”. I had nothing to say because GZ provoked the poster and then seemed frustrated that I wouldn’t intervein to protect him. Then when I posted this he snapped Message 31712535
Then while I was on a flight to LA I checked online to find that I was banned from his board as punishment for not defending GZ on honor??? I also received one last parting shot from Ground Zero.
So for an example of how hostile GZ can be, here is a few comments from his last PM to me. I received from him on Tuesday 7/24/2018 6:24:23 AM
"You have now shown yourself to be worthless and not worthy of being part of my threads... I have sent Pm messages to the top 100 posters on my buy and sell thread to ignore you... You've ignored me, so now everyone will ignore you... You will not be welcome nor will any of your subsequent messages or questions be addressed by anyone, you have chosen to become an outsider and therefore that's where you belong, outside the participation... Thanks for showing your hand, you're a complete disgrace to normal people..."
What a charming fellow he can be when he doesn’t get exactly what he wants.
