I would say that there is a difference between the nature of those who "read numbers" and those who dumped FB stock because they didn't want to have anything more to do with a company that used and abused their "clients/members".
I also suspect that the vast majority of FB faithful were not aware of the true nature of FB's business, which has been in "data mining" and selling it off, which also had serious security connotations to it.
After all, both American Houses, and the UK government, would not have gone to the trouble of interrogating Zuckerberg if they did not have serious reservations about what he was doing with FB and how that could possibly cause serious breaches of national and international security. The Cambridge Analytica was a case in point.
Therefore, if folk are moving away from FB and going elsewhere for their interactions with others, then who can FB mine in the future ? Because if they can't mine then what will happen to the Top Line in their future Income Statements ?
There was a dumping of FB stock like it's never seen for a loooong time .... one only has to look at the volume traded against the ~20% fall in its price .....
You may not have much confidence, or interest, in the utterances of the "h-l-k", BUT social media is "his bag" ... he knows how it works, what it takes to gain following, what it takes to be popular and relevant to its "membership" .... he's been part of that scene, in its various forms, for MANY years.
