I agree. Anyone saying we are should be severely reprimanded!

Well, it's not terribly scientific and may not be statistically significant, but here's a survey you can try.

1) Go to the main SI thread on Y2K stocks at Subject 2448 and count the average number of postings per day. This thread is almost exclusively inhabited by Americans

2) Now go to the equivalent thread on Canadian stocks at Subject 17540 and *ignoring my postings*, count the average number of postings per day.

Another interesting research to conduct is to read all the Toronto Globe & Mails between Xmas and New Year's. Do the same for the most recent Canadian Business magazines and Financial Post magazine. Among all the articles for predictions of key investment areas for 1998 in Canada, how many of them mention Y2K companies?

One of the key Y2K players in Canada is CGI Group. In spite of its share price increasing 730% and being the top gainer on the TSE and MSE for 1997, there was no mention of it anywhere in the financial press, at least not until the BCE offer on January 5.

You are right that publicity is now starting to gear up so I remain optimistic for all Canadian Y2K players in 1998.
