Do you monitor time value on your open positions? That is usually a very good predictor of when an assignment might occur. I think sometimes puts are assigned right after a stock has gone ex dividend.

Strange that in another account I had the same puts sold and nothing was exercised - I think this must occur based on who and where the put was bought??



The Options Clearing Corp will randomly assign to firms with a short position. The firm then passes the assignment onto clients with short positions either randomly or on a FIFO basis.
