It's amazing the crap we tend to carry, we can probably reduce the carry weight significantly if we didn't take along all those candy bars and jars of crunchy peanut butter, oh, and that heavy generator to run the television at night which we also keep in our backpack... LOL!!!

Seriously, if we don't carry water, then we can always boil some from the creek we find, or use a Sawyer straw which I have, I find that very useful and then there's no need to carry any water at all... water weighs 8 pounds per gallon...
