Well it better darn well be buffered because boils at less than room temp (67 F) in anhydrous form or at 235 F for 35% HF in hydrous form.
It's mean shit and requires Hazmat suits anywhere near it, and in most countries requires special permitting if you use over 1,000 lbs A YEAR.
You can wordsmith the shit out of the process, but I gotta tell ya that it's stuff that will etch stainless steel unless the steel is 100.00% pure as it eventually dissolves ALL of the impurities in the metal.
Give it up, there's flake producers that can produce 99.995% graphite and MLG without that HF or NH4F shit, the stuff is right at the surface, and they still have trouble selling it.
As proof, here is one flaker that can: eaglegraphite.com
Easy peasy compared to Zen's graphite, so you can imagine how bad Albany ore really is. And Eagle's 99.995% stuff is still sitting there in bags.
Oh sure, Zen can do maybe 98% or so after they remove 62 million tonnes of overburden and pound the crap out of the ore, then pour the HF on it (or reword the process to make it sound better but nowhere near safe or green).....but, dear choo-choo-dreamer, it will be the highest cost almost-clean-enough-for-graphene graphite in the world. And the most extremely dangerously produced.
There is a good reason AE has been so quiet, and you can wordsmith as much as you want, but that dog don't hunt. |
