Two more key quotes from InfoWorld: 1. Anderson said Apple did not benefit from the lack of Mac clone vendors this past quarter, considering many cloners had fire sales this quarter to get rid of their machines before the end of the year. 2. Anderson strongly denied an inquiry that Apple set up a special slush fund last quarter in order to post a profit in time for Macworld. "That is totally and absolutely false," Anderson said. <<My comment on number one is that I do believe Apple benefited at the high end, but got hurt on sales of its $1500 machines and on number two, MacOSRumors got played.>>
