Those social sites have morphed into media/press platforms. Their censorship is contrary to the intent of the First Amendment. Our laws have not caught up yet to safeguard the First Amendment on social media.
I think you like it now and will defend those platforms now, because you are ideologically aligned with the millennials who built that technology and are providing the censoring algorithms. However, what about when you regain all the branches of government? What about when those platforms eventually turn against you and your ideology? Will you turn back to the Constitution and its First Amendment as a defense? If you do, then you will realize that the foundations of that defense was destroyed by the actions you and your party are taking right now to defend the censorship those social media platforms are engaging in.
The first thing the Socialists and Communists ALWAYS do is attack the fundamental freedoms of a Democratic country. The first among these are the freedom of speech, assembly, press, and assembly. Later, they go after the judicial branch. Then they extend the term of the executive branch, until they have achieved dictatorship for life, as has China's Xi Jinping, Venezuela's Maduro, Cuba's former Castro, North Korea's Kim Jong, and on and on.
Why do you want that for the US? It makes no sense. You are planting the seeds of your own destruction. Yes, you will destroy the conservatives in this country, but you'll also destroy yourself and everything you hold dear. |
