| | | Uh, no. I voted for Obama in his first term. So I wasn't angry with him at all. I wanted him to succeed. I think he did succeed in a few things that I care about, but failed spectacularly in getting us out of military engagements and his push for Hillary's health care agenda, instead of staying focused on what he campaigned about in his first term. Plus, he really ran out of ideas to get the economy going. It was always more stimulus, instead of getting out of the way and letting Capitalism work. Truth is that I would never have voted for Hillary, because she's a terrible human being, and worse, she's a complete criminal. The only other choice would have been Bernie, and while I think he has a good heart, he's an avowed Socialist, which goes against all my knowledge of history. So I couldn't vote for him either. I voted for Trump, because 1) he was the only other choice, 2) I knew he'd shake things up and our system needed a big shake up, and 3) I believe you only have the right to criticize the system, if you are part of the system and you vote. Trump was elected fairly and by the people. There was no Russian collusion, except by Hillary in her purchase of the Steele Dossier procured by former KGB agents. You are just sour grapes. I get it. The GOP was serious sour grapes when Obama first got elected. No one thought he'd beat Hillary, much less the GOP. The GOP was very sour grapes when he did. I found their stridency at that time to be just as off-putting as yours now.
One other thing. I have a fundamental right to vote and to feel free of violence as I do that. You and your liberal friends are bringing 3rd world concepts into the US, when you espouse violence of words and deeds against others who don't share your opinions. That's a real turn off, which is why you are getting a big backlash against you, even when some people want to espouse your views. It's your violence, your anger, and your stridency that turns people off.

You tweeted that you were done discussing politics with liberals at dinner. Is it because everyone plays the role of knee-jerk shock and outrage?
Completely. I live with a Trump-hating, millennial socialist. I am not, as my boyfriend will tell everyone, political. I’m interested in the theater of it, how each side plays the game, and how the media has morphed with it. I have never seen liberals be more annoying than they are now. These last few weeks really were a flipping point for me, with the depression over the Supreme Court and the way the detention centers were being spun by the liberal media. It’s obviously a game. Here’s Rachel Maddow crying on TV, and pictures of Trump detention centers. My stepfather, who is a Polish Jew, had his entire family wiped out when he was an infant. Throwing around words like Nazi, Gestapo and comparisons to Weimar Germany is like, “Really guys? You’re going there?” I’ve had enough. I think there’s a reason why the #WalkAway movement is getting it’s ten seconds of fame, because there’s a real reaction toward the stridency of how Democrats are expressing their disappointment. It’s turning a lot of people off. |
