I was for leveling Afghanistan and walking away. I was not for nation building and I was not for going into Iraq. Going into Iraq disrupted the balance of power and all the mess we've seen since then is a result of that. I think the US has no business in the Middle East. If it was up to me, we'd leave and never go back. We'd amp up our own oil and gas and renewables operations as much as possible, pass the upcoming NOPEC legislation, and give the whole of the Middle East the big middle finger. We can win that war economically. No point in fighting with our military and putting our kids in harms way on the battlefield. Bush's fuck up in the ME is one of the major reasons I voted for Obama. He said he'd end the silliness. I wish he had, but Obama and now Trump are both living proof that the Military Industrial Complex is vast, deep, and unstoppable. They capture every one of our leaders eventually. It's horrible, but it is what it is. I don't know how to solve that and I think any leader that promises to solve it is naive.

BTW, do you think the liberals aren't captured? I am watching in horror as the liberals try to get us into a shooting war with Russia. I watched in horror as the liberals openly wished for Trump's failure in North Korea. Oh yes, the liberals love war just as much. What it comes down to is power. The liberals are power hungry. in that respect, they are no different than the conservatives. They all disgust me.
