OK. we'll have to disagree on this. According to existing law, you are technically correct. However, our laws and our Constitution never anticipated 1984 style social media platforms eclipsing the reach and power of mainstream media. We have a new reality to deal with ushered in by new technology.

Another example of this issue is Data Privacy. Technically and legally, you have no expectation of privacy. Your data is not your own. Unfortunately, your data can be used in ways never anticipated by our laws nor our Constitution. Europe is way ahead of us on this with their new GDPR. In the US, we've given all the power and control of our data, as well as the power and control of the dissemination and censoring of our knowledge to the biggest social media companies. It is a problem that will need to be solved. More people will need to understand 1) that is IS a problem and 2) why it is a problem, before we can begin to solve for it.

You will get there. Probably not until your causes are being censored and destroyed. Then it will become personal for you and you'll realize the protections that you've lost. Then you will understand why I am a defender of our institutions and an advocate for an evolution of our historic protections to account for the changes in reach and power of technology companies and their ability to subvert the intent of our Constitution and the protections intended for our freedoms.
