You are right that the CO2 production rate continues to exceed the removal rate, but producing CO2 will be less competitive with other energy sources. It remains to be seen just how leaky the bucket is.

Thanks for pointing out that radiolaria are silica shelled. But they, along with megatons of other detritus that is rich in carbon do end up as volcano fuel which is definitely full of carbon. I haven't calculated the megatons per day of carbon that ends up in oceanic sediment but it's a lot.

I didn't know radiolaria are silica shelled ... SI is good like that = plenty of people know things. But that's a detail to the point about where carbon in the ocean ends up.

For now CO2 is accumulating. A third of a century since I got interested there's still no sign of anything to worry me. On the contrary the CO2 bonus is a good thing. The Global Alarmist End of the World is Nigh cult predictions have been fizzers at best. Our children still know what snow is. The Beast from the East was full of cold air not heat. People died.
