Truth is You are TRAPPED and totally dependent on whosoever is driving that plane. Think about it. The forward door is locked because of OBL. Autopilots are good but even they need attention on occasion. I remember once waking up and going into a mental panic as we were approaching LAX from NRT overnight and I was sure the piloting crew was still asleep and had forgotten to wake up and would over shoot the airport with the plane eventually plowing into the desert somewhere to the East. Fortunately that didn't happen.
