Those garden hoses with the braided fabric, and which
return themselves to the faucet after letting the water
pressure go, operate at 60psi in my hometown.
The vacuum that must be offset by a space suit is
only 15psi. Even giving a 50% margin of safety it's 22.5psi.
That's a very reasonable accomplishment, even in the '60s.

I think SCUBA gear works similarly. Need reliable regulators.
