Apparently, you totally missed the point. Taxes are not, and cannot reasonably be, the measuring stick. Yet, these claims are consistently based on half information... Not to mention the insane debt levels of liberal states which ultimately, threaten to become federal taxpayer liabilities. MA has a per capita state debt of 11k, while Arkansas is 1.6k. Ultimately, this matters because some of this debt we know will have to be covered by federal taxpayers when it all goes south. These analyses never, AFAIK, take into account huge portions of the liabilities and federal credits they receive. Hence, neither you nor I knows the actual figures.
