The product advantage referred to concerning the ODC product is related to their prepaid wireless product. The ODC product is the only prepaid wireless product developed to date that allows for a subscriber to place and receive calls in a roaming mode with enhanced fraud protection while roaming. Most prepaid providers do not even provide for roaming capability and those that do will only allow you to place calls, not receive them. I suspect that this advantage coupled with the fact that GEMS did not have a prepaid offereing, drove them to purchase this company. It will be interesting to see how GEMS will integrate this product into their current systems as the system architecture of the two is incompatible. Will they forsake one platform for the other or will they keep two distinct systems as seperate products? That would be a good question for when you speak with one of their engineers.
