That is correct .. CONGRESS did not make the law . . .
private businesses CAN make laws of how their employees are allowed to behave.
The Amendments (including the First and Second) are laws that limit the GOVERNMENT.
At your work, are you allowed to walk around cursing at other employees or customers ??
Why not .. "freedom of speech", eh.
not . . just like you can't yell "fire" in a movie theater if there is no fire.
Another example --> public television broadcasters are not subject to the First Amendment when they decide what shows to air.
Over the years, the First Amendment has been made more clear through Supreme Court actions. So one that applies to business and their interactions with employees (unions in this example) is something called Captive Audience. The First Amendment offers LESS protection for the employees. Click on that link to read more about it.

Also, listen to and read more news sources than just a few biased ones that might lean to your liking. That way you can be better informed and able to make your own decisions and judgement of things instead of just following what others think.
