VLSI is pretty well deversified, they are not putting all thier eggs in one basket, they will be around for awhile.
Today is the big day, don't be surprised if estimates are not blown away, and next quarter doesn't look rosy (AMD). But, by buying VLSI at this price and below, beating the s&p 500 and 80% of the fund managers will be a cake walk. However the recent price action does suggest buy at 19 and sell at 23, this is hard to argue with. My opinion only of course.
