It's not clear to me they are doing a whole lot in secret. Perhaps you could call it a "mob".

Unfortunately, NNVC management has been less than forthcoming on a lot of matters. The licensing agreements from TheraCour appear to have been executed with subterfuge, and the result has been rather overreaching in nature. They have certainly put themselves ahead of the shareholders in almost every way possible. The relationship between TheraCour and NNVC appears more like a parasite/host relationship than a partnership.

That hasn't changed yet with the new CEO.

Even the most ethical short-sellers, once taking a short position, are typically not opposed to giving the stock price a nudge by presenting the truth (as they see it) in a less than flattering manner.

I will admit that many of these folks have gone beyond that and made their assaults on NNVC management and their supporters rather personal. But, to be honest and objective, it appears management is far from lily-white and innocent. Much of this they have brought upon themselves.
