I have boycotted facebook since it started to be popular, so maybe 5 years ago. I had an account for a couple weeks then attempted to eliminate it and never logged on again. Twitter I never attempted, just read tweets when posted here. Hollywood I blacklisted about the time I drifted away from watching TV, about 30 plus years ago. I will occasionally see small glimpses of the small screen as my wife does watch it but I try to avoid it. I will rarely read the covers of those magazines in grocery stores checkout lines when I am bored waiting and wonder who those people are and how much money they might be making but I really don't care.

I have an IPhone and it keeps trying to get me to upgrade my software. When it asks me to agreed with its "Cloud" policies, I decline. and their request goes away along with there all important upgrade. Obviously there are functions on my phone that don't work. I lived a long life without them up to now and so this missing functionality doesn't bother me.

Most of this social stuff doesn't matter to me, but I know a lot of people are hooked on it, like my wife. I liken it to a mental drug. She will me about stuff that other people whom I know might post. I am generally uninterested.

My wife has used some of our shared accounts for various things, and I have ended up getting a lot of adds for womens clothing- dresses, blouses, shoes, etc. I must say some of the models are quite nice to look at but their dresses would never fit me...
