Well, the DRAMeXchange data explain the current weakness in WDC share price. But I wonder whether the conclusions of the article ignore the extent to which demand for NAND based products is price elastic, in which case demand would grow (especially in the server market) at a rate that would more than compensate for lower average unit selling prices.

You may recall that Eli Harari often noted that demand for NAND was price elastic, and he was right. And in that period, the analysts generally ignored this price elasticity and undervalued SanDisk to the point where investments in the stock became really profitable, for me and many others who decided to hang in there. A similar situation may exist today, except for the fact that worldwide economic and political turmoil could turn things for the worse.
