<< wonder if Aussies are getting upset about selling their gold?? >> There was hell to pay in Australia when that was announced, but like the US FED the Aussie Reserve Bank is theoretically "a non-government agency" so the political establishment distanced itself from the sale. This issue of the US Government (read taxpayer) taking the risk for further sales to Korea in order to gain markets for the US farmers is another thing. For a country that complains about other counties unfair trade practices and "moral risk of underwriting other countries debt" this action must take the cake. Good old pork barrelling on a global scale!

I have not seen this reported in any US publication - so much for the independence and objectivity of the US press!
