' Granular potash sells for an average $331 per tonne in Brazil, as of Aug. 17, up 25 percent year over year, according to Mosaic data. '

That will be the chloride [? - i would expect] quoted fob the ports, all of which are some distance, and considerable transport cost, from the Cerrado ... KCl is 0-0-60, let's be generous and say two thirds of it actually gets used by plant roots before being washed away in the very-rainy growing season, so then you're competing with 0-0-40 really ... some K-content of the 0-0-10 greensand will be leached out as well, can't be completely avoided, but it will be much less than the highly-soluble chloride

... so add this in to greensand being much closer, much cheaper to produce, and requiring far less frequent application ... i don't see how they can miss, it's just a matter of how long it takes to establish farmer acceptance
