Tom, I was not intending that my comments be taken as US bashing. In my experience all governments tend to act in political self interest ahead of the rights of their own citizens or the overall good. I do have an issue though with the mainstream US press. World news coverage is dismal and is very limited and anything detrimental to the US image is conveniently forgotten. This is very patriotic but not terribly balanced. In the matter of South Korea, if they were providing cheap food to help the Korean people, this would be admirable. They are NOT - they are just providing credit to buy more US goods, the very thing that got the South Koreans in trouble in the first place.

I also see in this mornings news reports that the South Koreans have seen the light and are going to put most of the Gold they collected into their reserves. Only a small proportion will be sold on the open market.
