To me, the 35 cents/share number was not the analysts estimate. So I'm not going to credit the analysts for that number. It was literally given to them by Jobs' $45+ million preannouncement. Thus it was Steve Jobs' or Apple's estimate. The $10 million loss WAS the analysts estimate.

Agreed. My dog could have estimated 35 cents per share after Jobs handed it to them. It's especially noteworthy that we at SI pretty much knew about the profitability for the quarter before the analysts clued in. Cool, kind of reminds me of The Motley Fool's fairy tale story about Iomega, how Fools were driving to visit the company to make sure people were working on Sunday.

AAPL's shown remarkable strength today, actually trading briefly at yesterday's market close. Looks good for the next few weeks.
