SyQuest 4.7 Gig Quest Shipping!!!???

HAHAHA!!! Looks like Syquest is getting Quest out the door before Iomega can salvage what's left of its Jaz2!

apstech.com

Due to APS's stupid use of frames, I cannot link directly with the page. Look under Products, then Removable Media, then Syquest. APS claims to already have it for $599.

Just check out the specs on this amazing device:

syquest.com

Note that dual-air filtration system. This may not mean anything to those of you in snowy, clean-aired Colorado (except Denver-- jeez, that place is gross), but here in NYC, you can count how many days a project has been set aside by measuring the inches of dust deposited on it. This place is dusty. And Syquest knows that putting a high quality feature like air filteration in a system like this is a must. Jaz2 sells for about the same price-- with no air filteration, and less than half the capacity to boot. Not even MR tech! Jaz is an old, gray product with a crooked cane and shaky hands.

Rumors abound that one can already order one of these amazing Quest drives. According to the Syquest web page, shipping to OEM's was in December 1997. This info has not been updated, so we'll see if it is true.
