Colin Kaepernick was never a great quarterback. He took over the QB position when struggling Alex Smith was injured. Smith went on to be a more accomplished player. Kap had a good but short run that first full year. Ultimately losing in the effort to make 5 yards with three successive plays to the same hands in the end zone. I was there watching in horror from that end zone just above the sticks in the Superdome.. Whether it was Kap or their "would be" offensive coordinater who also sucked at his job as well, it doesn't matter. I watched Kap a lot in those years. He missed a lot of makeable plays because he could run. He didn't know how to read the field and certainly couldn't look off defenders before throwing. His only strength was great running when things fell apart. Kap was never my guy and I was living in Nevada near where he played in college. Kap's following is based on race alone. No sympathy for him not being picked up after he left the 49ers. I was happy the league shunned him for his disgracing the national anthem and making a scene around himself at the beginning of each game in competition with the anthem...In the end I don't think it helped his "cause".
